Sharks II worthy winners at home to New House

With a near full-strength team available, and seeking revenge against a New House team who narrowly managed to beat us in the first meeting, tonight’s game began with a real sense of purpose.

From the start we were well organised defensively and before too long we began notching up the points as well. In a true team effort, six different players added to the score in the 1st quarter which ended 15-11 in our favour.

Spurred on by our performance, more of the same was ordered going into the 2nd, and a half time score of 34-19 put the pressure right back on New House to try and change the game.

Somewhat predictably, New House stepped up the D in the 3rd but we managed not to let this phase us too much as our scoring continued and they just pipped us 15-17 going into the 4th.

As they say ‘if it aint broke don’t fix it!’ would be the best way to sum up the final quarter. With them still chasing the game and getting into team foul trouble early on all we needed were calm heads and the game was ours. By keeping the structure as it was and not rotating too much we saw out the game as winners in one of the best performances of our season to date.

Final Score: 66-56

Sharks Scorers: Andrzejewski 11, Fraine 9, Dickson 8, Grimes 8, Rowlett 8, Yogev 8, Olanolan 6, Smee 6, Plail 2
