Dartford Sharks I suffer first Rose Bowl loss

This Wednesday Dartford traveled to Gravesend for their first away game of the Rose Bowl tournament. The game was against Guru and as with this tournament, Guru had a 20 point lead at the start of the game. We were missing a number of our key players but we did have the 'wandering Aussie' that made one of his few appearances this year.

Dartford started fairly strong but we still lacked the passion that we have had in other games. That said we caught up 8 points by the end of the first with the end of quarter 1 finishing at 33 - 21 in favour of Guru.

In the second quarter we picked up the pace and caught up the remaining 12 point deficit. The half time score ending equal at 46 a piece.

It then all seemed to go a bit wrong in the third as Guru stormed ahead taking the quarter 76 - 68. Big man Zsolti was then fouled out and although we tried our hardest to catch up in the fourth, we failed by 3 points in the final seconds of the game.

Next and final group stage game against Crows next Thursday at their court in Erith.

Final score : 95 - 92

Sharks Scorers : Maher 30, Kraft 27, Demmon 10, Pullen 8, Fraser 7, Adams 6, Webb 4
