Sharks II off to a flyer against Bromley

Thursday 19th February – Dartford Sharks II Vs Bromley Fury II

More often than not our games against Bromley are low scoring and closely contested right up to the final buzzer. However from the off in this game we would look to change that trend as Sharks II came racing out of the blocks. With our biggest crowd of the season so far we were spurred on to take a 15-0 lead after just 3 minutes as everything seemed to falling for us. Bromley were chasing the game already and with the rest of the quarter a bit more even we took a 21-8 advantage into the 2nd.

With a full bench all wanting a piece of the action the rotation began from early on, and while Bromley were starting to find their game our attack was stronger as we looked to add to the lead. The last play of the half was one for the highlight reels as Sean got fouled from outside the arc made the bucket and completed the 4 point play from the line. With the halftime score at 35-20 the 3rd quarter couldn’t start soon enough for us.

A solid display in the 3rd saw some good movement of the ball as we were able to take chances inside and out to keep the pressure on and go 50-33 up into the 4th. Not wanting to take anything for granted, we went back to the starting 5 for the beginning of the quarter. In a rare day where Bromley were not quite at the races we were able to see out the game comfortably as we took the 4th 18-6 and the game 68-39. A great evening for the club but we know Bromley will be back next time!

Final Score: 68-39

Sharks Scorers: Marsh 16, Yogev 16, Plail 15, Sabunas 11, Torreggiani 4, Whitaker 4, Rowlett 2.

Next up: Maidstone U18s at home on March 12th
