Disappointing loss for Sharks I in second game of Rosebowl

After a great start in the rosebowl against Bromley Fury II the previous week we were again on the road looking for our second win this time against Eltham at Harris Academy.

Without Zsolt, our big inside presence who had gone back to Hungary for a few weeks, and a few others, we turned up light and starting with a 20 point lead, Eltham who had already beaten us once in the league this season were going to be tough to beat.

The first quarter ended even, leaving us still 20 points down on Eltham.  Things only got worse in the second and Eltham out played Dartford by 4 points going in to the half leading 42 – 28.

A stern discussion at half time and some strategizing and by the end of the quarter we had pulled back some and ended the quarter 5 down.

If we were going to take the game we would have to continue to improve our game.  However, Eltham were not going to just hand it over and came out very strong.  Points were traded like for like and as the game came to the closing seconds we found ourselves down by about 10.  It was just too little too late for sharks this time round.

Final Score : 76 – 65

Sharks Scorers : Braknys 21, Maher 16, Andrzejewski 9, Demmon 6, Long 5, Donchucks 4, Fraser 1
