Sharks I vs Maidstone

This past game saw the Maidstone Warriors travel to the Shark Tank and the Sharks only had one thing on their mind…keep pushing for the league title. Maidstone looked ready for a battle but the Sharks were equally up to the task. After the first few possessions of the game it looked like everyone was in for a high scoring affair as both teams were hitting their shots. The Sharks knew that they had to step it up on defence and lets just say the message was received. Sharks went on a blistering run which saw them take a 32 – 8 lead after the first quarter.

Sharks took advantage of their deep bench and were quickly rotating players into the game with everyone contributing whether it be good solid help defence, chasing down a rebound or making the extra pass the Sharks were playing high quality basketball. This led to the Sharks being up by 38 points heading into the second half.

The second half was a more even half as the Sharks were not quite as sharp on the offensive or defensive end of the court. With that being said the Sharks still won every quarter and won the game by 48 points.

Special mention goes to the Sharks 3 point shooting, the return of Andys shooting touch and general hustle plays and Mikel’s decision making which has helped solidify the effectiveness of the second unit.

By far and away the ESPN Sports Centre highlight came in the first half with Rokas driving to the basket and finishing with a ferocious 2 hand slam which caused hysteria from the Shark faithful.

Next match away on Tuesday to Wizards where the Sharks will aim to carry on the momentum continue to push for the league title.
