Dartford Sharks I : Rosebowl Cup Quarter Finals

This past Thursday saw the Sharks host Crows in the quarter final of the Rosebowl. Dartford approached this match full of confidence but was met with a very early challenge in the 1st quarter as Crows were shooting the ball well hitting a few early 3 pointers. This put the Sharks on edge and it just seemed like the Sharks were unable to get going.

Our defence was poor but our offence was keeping us in the game. The issue was we were only trading baskets and not clawing back any of the 35 point advantage that Crows started with.

The bench came to the rescue as they brought energy on defence and continued to score. This meant the Sharks had a very good second quarter and were only down 10 points going into the second half.

Crows could have easily let us continue our hot streak from the second quarter but they came out in the second half with one purpose….to win the game. The came out with energy which the Sharks did not match and as a result Crows increased their lead to 17 points. If not for a run at the end of the 3rd quarter the Sharks would have been looking at a mountain to climb going into the 4th.

The 4th quarter saw a tough battle where both sides were throwing everything into it and the Sharks managed to pull away at the end but were always at risk of losing the game as Crows put up a valiant effort.

The final whistle blew and Dartford continues to march on…up next semi finals.
