Sevenoaks Suns v Dartford Sharks I

Dartford made the journey down to Sevenoaks in search for their first win of the season. Certain team members fell victim to traffic and other life obligations and as a result the bench only had 1 person on it but as the match started it had grown exponentially to 3 people.

With little warm up it seemed like an uphill battle for the Sharks to get that first win but perhaps this was the shake up that we needed as the Sharks started the first quarter very strong. The defence was very tight and Sevenoaks were struggling to score. The Sharks offence was clicking something that has been a recurring issue this season.

The rest of the first half saw Sevenoaks work their way back into the game but Sharks still held a decent lead.

The second half was saw a little bit of everything. It saw some brilliant play from both teams….it saw a lot of physical play, it saw a lot of poor decision making. At one point it looked like the Sharks complete forgot how to play offence. In the end the game was not a pretty game but we managed to grind out our first win of the season.

Nice to get the win but still a lot to improve on in order for us to have a successful season. The most notable statistic that will make any basketball enthusiast cringe was the Sharks shooting 50% from the free throw line.

Final Score : 47 – 53

Sharks Scorers : Long 12::3/5::1, Maher 10::4/5::0, Schreiber 10::0/2::0, Kraft 8::2/4::0,Marsh 6::1/4::1, Andrzejewski 3::1/2::0 ,Fraser 3:0/0::1, Wellby 1::1/2::0
